Hello, I’m Stacey, also known as Stacey Greenshield Art, and I’m a full time illustrator based between Oxford and the Cotswolds. I split my career between custom commissioned illustrations and live wedding illustrations.
How I became an illustrator. I live with my husband Jack, our son Arlo and our barky sausage dog Barty. In addition to our family I have a lovely old horse called Hello Sailor, who I’ve looked after for over 10 years now, and who took me all over the world in his showjumping career days.
I started drawing and painting back in April 2020, during lockdown. I was eager to get a painting done for my sister of our old pony who had recently passed away, but with lockdown (and not having the money I needed) I tried some painting at home. That sparked a fire I didn’t know was in me, and from there I taught myself how to draw pet portraits and use watercolours. I sold my first custom portrait to a friend the next month and start a small side hustle of pet portraits along side my grooming career.
In 2021 we welcomed our son into the world, and I was a bit lost on what I was going to do work wise. I had ended my grooming career due to pregnancy and was in search for a new adventure. I started playing around with illustrating. I illustrated a card for my husband for Father’s Day and shared on my Facebook page, it went crazy and I had nearly 50 orders of bespoke cards. I then discovered live wedding illustrating. A job I knew I’d love as I enjoy travelling, meeting new people and of course, weddings!! I illustrated at my first wedding in August 2023 and am now a full time illustrator, something I honestly never dreamed of.
Since then I have illustrated at over 200 weddings and worked with some huge clients including Charlotte Tilbury in Bicester village, Soho farmhouse and a broadway play called Giant, based on Roald Dahl!
When I’m not illustrating, i’m either spending time with my family, with my horse or kickboxing, a girls got to have a hobby right?
